Sounds Around Intro to Music Class with Francesco Stabile

Class Description: Sounds Around is a fun and educational class for children entering 1st - 4th grades who want to make music. Taught by renowned guitarist Francesco Stabile, the class size is limited to 5 students. The class will include one 45 minute lesson a week for four weeks on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 AM beginning June 28 and going through July 19. The class will teach children to recognize and appreciate everyday sounds around them utilizing "instruments" found in and around the home and in nature, such as sticks, cans of peppercorns, coarse salt in a container, a spackle can pots and pan, a comb with wax paper for a kazoo, glasses with water in varying heights, etc). On the last day of class, parents are invited to hear the music their children made. Maximum class size is 5 students. If there is more interest, a second class will be scheduled for 11:30 on Tuesdays from June 28 - July 19. Contact farmsteadartscenter@gmail.com if you are interested in the 11:30 AM class. Please note it is Farmstead Arts policy that a parent or guardian of any student under age 12 remain on the premises during each class.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: A full refund will be issued if cancellation is received prior to the registration deadline for the session. A refund less a $30 fee will be issued for cancellations after the registration deadline before the session starts. Refunds will not be issued after the session start date. Refunds are processed in 4-6 weeks. Full refunds are issued if the session is canceled by Farmstead Arts. Your registration and check may be returned by mail for the following reasons: • the program was cancelled • the program was full • your registration form was not complete, your check was not signed, written for the incorrect amount or not made payable to "Friends of the KMS Farmstead “ In case of the above, your registration and check will be returned to you by mail with a letter of explanation.

About the Teacher: Francesco Stabile is a guitarist and an international musician born in Italy now living in New York. He has more than 15 years of experience as a musician and teacher in Europe and America. Francesco has performed in the most famous Blues and Jazz festivals in Europe, as a leader and sideman, with great public success and critical acclaim. A musician of great musical versatility, he enjoys performing in a wide variety of different genres from classical to jazz and blues. He is fluent in both English and Italian and also teaches Italian. He teaches, composes music and performs in New York City and the surrounding area, including a recent performance at Lincoln Center. He has an excellent knowledge of the different possibilities related to the guitar world, and is dedicated to teaching the wonderful world of music and guitar.
